Eric Morecambe’s tongue twister, East Fife 4, Forfar 5, brought sunshine to many.

And now it’s come true – after the sides drew in the Scottish League Cup, Forfar won on penalties 5-4.

Eric, who died in 1984 aged 58, used to greet his pal, BBC sports reader James Alexander Gordon, with the joke whenever he saw him.

Eric and partner Ernie Wise entertained the nation with their one-liners and slapstick routines in the 60s through to the early 80s. Here are some of their best..
