Several of his popular books—including two collections of autobiographical stories, telling of his lifelong love of playing bongo drums, puzzling through scientific mysteries, and distrusting authority figures—became runaway best sellers. Over his career—cut short after a long battle with cancer—Feynman produced 125 scientific articles and books, several of which remain at the forefront of modern physics.
