Michelle Shimmy is a Sydney-based internationally-renowned pole performer, entertainer, judge, MC  and instructor. Shimmy co-owns the Pole Dance Academy with her sister Maddie Sparkle and have their own line of pole wear, Shimmy & Sparkle. 

Shimmy and Maddie are the creators of two of the world's most entertaining pole competitions, Dance Filthy and Pole Theatre, which is now held in over 20 countries worldwide. Pole Theatre is the world's biggest pole dance competition.

Shimmy is passionate about teaching pole. She loves to guide and see the improvement in her students from week to week. For Shimmy, the true magic of pole dance is the transformative effect it has on people, in the way that it increases confidence and body awareness.
